Duri,now52yearsold,spent47yearslivinginAkTogaLangarVillage.Inthewinterof2018,hisfamilybenefitedfromtherelocationpolicyforpovertyalleviationandsettledinAiminVillage.

There,theygraduallyadaptedtothechanges,enjoyinganewlifedifferentfromthatoftheirancestors.Duriandhisyoungestson,Nurkerim,openedasmallshop,whilebothhiseldestandsecondsonsfoundnewjobs.Thevillagecommitteeledthevillagersintransformingbarrenland,levelingit,andrepairingditches.Duri"sfamilywasallotted10mu(0.67hectares)ofland,whichtheyusedtogrowforagegrass.

Afterroadsareimproved,Duri"sfamilyoptedforamodernmeansoftransportinsteadofcamels.NurkerimhasalsoboughtapickuptruckwhichheusestorunatransportservicefromthecountyseattothevillageandfromthecountyseattotheKashgarcityarea.
